After two years of providing free legal representation and consultation to non-detained low-income immigrants in Arizona in partnership with the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, the Phoenix Legal Action Network has hired its first Executive Director to lead its expansion and organizational development into an independently operating comprehensive legal and social services agency. With this development, PLAN anticipates hiring an attorney and support staff throughout 2020.

Executive Director Lori Dennehy joins PLAN with a background in law, nonprofit management and fundraising, leadership development programs, and social justice activism, including  experience with immigration issues. A native Arizonan and two-time graduate of ASU, for both her undergraduate and law degrees, she has dedicated her career to building and serving communities throughout the Valley.

Lori states, "The need for nonprofits and professional communities to step up to provide access to legal representation, and therefore to justice, for immigrants in Arizona has never been greater. PLAN's work will change people's lives, improve our community, and advance justice in an unjust system. We invite all who find the status quo untenable, impractical, and unjust, to work with PLAN to enact change and fill this gap in services."
